The MPD’s 9th Avenue Park District Corridor Ribbon Cutting!

We here at the Maywood Park District are proud to announce the historic opening of the 9th Ave Park District Corridor. For the past few months we have been working diligently to provide even more resources to the community of Maywood, and the opening of this new space is a hallmark of our efforts to accomplish just that.

The 9th Ave Park District Corridor will not only provide a safe space for youth and families to learn and grow, but will also serve as a beacon of light for our community. As monumental as this event is, it is only the beginning, as Spring of 2018 will bring the completion of our 809 Building Renovation project. With this, we will be bringing even more services and activities to the Village of Maywood.

Check out pictures from the event as well as special coverage video of this great event below!

Saying Goodbye and Welcoming in a New Board Commissioner!

We, the Maywood Park District Commissioners and staff would like to take this opportunity to thank Lincoln Smith for his committed service to the people of this community as a Park District Commissioner! Your efforts in turning this district around are appreciated and will never be forgotten. Good luck in all of your future endeavors and should you need us, we will always be here for you!

With that said, the Maywood Park District Commissioners and staff would also like to introduce our newly elected Park District Commissioner, Mr. John Rice. Commissioner Rice has been a longtime resident and business owner in the Village of Maywood and has now joined our commission to be a part of the positive movement that’s occurring in our district. We welcome you Commissioner Rice and look forward to 6 years of continual growth!
